It’s Tuesday and ideas are scarce around here, so we decided to think about one item of food that we could compile a list for, because that’s how meetings usually start. Our Managing Editor Steve just got back from hanging out with his family in Iowa and kind of figured a chicken pot pie feature would be cool. So, here we are. We at The Banana Boat present the 12 chicken pot pies worth checking out right this minute, in the off chance that you might find yourself craving one today. Or ever.

- The Chicken Pot Pie from Landry’s Lunch Counter
Landry’s is basically a lunch counter downtown that’s been there since the ’50s, and it kind of sucks. But we’re gonna spin this like it’s “vintage” and tell you to go check out this “excellent relic from another era” for a chicken pot pie that you probably don’t want to eat today anyway. That said, you read this, so we’ve done our job.
2. Chicken Pot Pie, The Hula Hut
Not sure why a Hawaiian themed restaurant has a chicken pot pie on the menu, but the internet tells us they do, and that’s really all we needed to put it on this list. Maybe there’s some pineapple in there or something. That would be exotic.
3. Chicken Kiev from Martina’s
Not technically a chicken pot pie, but if you tossed this inside a pie crust, it would be. Close enough.
4. Chicken Pot Pie from Ralph’s Roadside Diner
Ralph’s is a roadside diner about 47 miles from here, but they do have a chicken pot pie that some Yelpers find “adequate if you’re incredibly hungry.” We also know you don’t have a car, but we’re still gonna tell you to “fire up the station wagon.” Ha.
5. Chicken in Puff Pastry, Le Baronte
This is the serious gourmand’s chicken pot pie, mostly because they use fresh peas instead of frozen, and some of the other words on the menu are French.
6. Chicken Pot Pie, The Breakers
You know that hotel your grandma lives in with the all you can eat shrimp cocktail? Well guess what? They have chicken pot pie for dinner every Tuesday, and if you weren’t such a bad grandson, you could have one.
7. Chicken Sandwich, Chik-Fil-A
Not a chicken pot pie, but we honestly got committed to putting 12 on this list before we knew how many we could find.
